iCORE’s proposal review processes are structured to ensure the unbiased review of all requests. The processes are tailored specifically for each grant program, and involve external peer review at different levels.

The Internal Review Committee is involved in the adjudication of all awards. It meets monthly to (1) determine whether to move major awards for chair and professor positions to external review, and (2) make final decision on minor awards such as strategic planning/recruiting or visiting professor awards.

The committee is made up of nine to eleven representatives from Alberta universities and industry. Potential IRC candidates are presented to the iCORE Board of Directors who give final approval for IRC membership.
