2009 iCORE Summit a success!
The annual iCORE Summit, always a rich opportunity to engage with
researchers and promote problem-solving interactions between research
teams, was once again a success.
This year's theme was "Tools for Information Security and Privacy"
and iCORE was privileged to be able to host six distinguished speakers
on this topic:
• Sir Peter Knight, Senior Principal at Imperial College, London
• Dr Bart Preneel, Professor, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium
• Dr Virgil Gligor, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and co-Director of CyLab
• Dr Markus Jakobsson, Principal Scientist at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)
• Dr Richard J. Hughes, Laboratory Fellow in the Physics Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory
• Fred Carter, Senior Policy and Technology Advisor, Ontario Information and Privacy Commission
With over 230 attendees, each presentation was well-attended and
excited participants continued their discussions in the lobby area
after each session.
