Chair
and Professorship Establishment (CPE)
Grants
- All
proposals are initially screened by
the iCORE Internal Review Committee
(IRC), which meets every month. If
the proposal meets the general criteria
of the CPE program, it is forwarded
to the iCORE External Review Committee
(ERC).
- The
ERC performs an international, arms-length,
peer review of the proposal. This
process can take up to three months.
The ERC returns a written report to
the IRC.
- The
IRC makes the final decision on the
proposal and, if successful, the amount
of the award. The decision is based
on the candidate,
the proposal, the budget and ERC report.
Industrial
Chair Establishment (ICE) Grants
-
ICE proposals are initially screened
by the iCORE Internal Review Committee,
which meets every month. If the review
is positive, iCORE will forward the
proposal to NSERC for review under
the NSERC Industrial Chair program.
-
All proposals are reviewed by a site
visiting committee. Applicants will
be contacted regarding the timing
and agenda for a site visit.
-
Final NSERC recommendation for funding
is made by its GRC advisory committee
which meets in February, June, September
and December. Final iCORE decisions
are made by its Internal Review Committee
within one month following the NSERC
decision.
